PRIMITIVE CAMPING/CAMPGROUNDS ON WILSON CREEK
 
Dispersed camping is allowed through out the forest area, staying at least 100 ft. from any water. Listed are the campgrounds in the Wilson Creek area.  
 
MORTIMER CAMPGROUND
This is a beautiful, primitive campground located 10 miles up the mountain from Brown Mtn. Beach. It is operated by the Forest Service & is open from April 1st - October 31st & has 23 sites for tents and small campers. Fire rings, picnic tables, and 2 bathhouses with flushing toilets and showers are available. The fee is $10.00 per night.
 
Anita-Alta BRHA Youth & Horse Camp
Anita-Alta BRHA Youth & Horse Camp is located in the Mulberry community of Caldwell County. This 375 acre campground is operated by Lenoir based Blue Ridge Horseman's Association. The BRHA, with over 200 families as members, has leased this former 4H Campground from the State of NC. Anita-Alta offers over 75+ miles of trails for hiking and horseback riding with trails connecting to Pisgah National Forest at Boone's Fork area consisting of 43,380 acres.
